As we face the unprecedented circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic, we understand the concerns Kingston First members and staff will be feeling at this uncertain time. I wanted to get in touch with you to summarise the work we at Kingston First will be undertaking in the coming weeks to help support you, the town centre and our partners.
We will be sharing round-ups of official local and national government updates and policy with you as soon as they are available. A round-up of key points of official information and policy documents are available below;
Government Guidance on Coronavirus (updated 17 March)
Government Guidance on Social Distancing for Everyone in the UK (updated 16 March)
ACAS – coronavirus update for employers and employees
Government Guidance for employers and businesses from March’s budget 2020 (updated 10 March)
We are in close dialogue with Kingston Council who are directly in contact with central government to coordinate the national response. In our role, we will continue to coordinate and collect town centre data and feedback from the business community to inform local policy makers and partners, industry bodies and national government.
As you would expect, we will be postponing our regular programme of workshops, training and Thumbs Up It’s Thursday events for an initial period of three months. Those booked on or participating will be contacted directly. We will review dates for these activities in the coming months as further government advice is issued and we look to plan for post Covid-19 recovery.
This is a fast changing situation and we are here to support you by ensuring you are informed on relevant updates as they become clear. Our team are working on a combination of skeleton staff rotation in the office and remote working, but if you require any help from us during this difficult time, please do let us know by getting in touch with any member of the team via phone or email.
Let’s stay safe and work together.
Kirsten Henly
Chief Executive
