Kingston Council and Kingston First are working together to create a new vision for the town centre and surrounding area which helps unlock opportunities for investment and development and creates a place where people want to live, work, study and visit.
We want to create a town centre where we can retain and grow young talent and where investors and businesses can contribute to a shared vision for the future of our town. We want to respect and celebrate our culture and heritage while embracing new ideas to create a vibrant and inclusive town centre.
Getting Involved
We want to understand what everyone values and needs from the town centre and area surrounding it in the future and the Council have started to have conversations with local residents as part of a Citizens’ Panel.
We want to work with our members to help shape the future direction of Kingston town centre. We will be holding a series of workshops in partnership with Kingston Council to gather views and ideas from local businesses. Each workshop will build on the insights and feedback from the previous workshop so we’d encourage you to attend all three sessions if you can. We appreciate this might not be possible though and would welcome your attendance and contribution at any of the workshops below.
We want our local economy and communities to thrive. Our ambition is to find sustainable ways to breathe new life into our town centre, building on opportunities that are in development such as the new Unilever HQ and paving the way for future high quality and sustainable developments, new homes, green spaces, successful local businesses and good local jobs.
