Kingston Carnival, organised by Kingston Racial Equalities Council (KREC), will be taking place on Sunday 3rd September.
Please see some of the key information below:
- There will be a procession, music, food and family activities across the town, 12-7pm.
- As usual, the organisers are planning three stages: one in the Ancient Market Place, and two on the High Street.
- The procession starts at 12pm and makes its way along High Street, Eden Street, Clarence Street and Church Street, finishing at the Ancient Market Place for 1.30pm.
The procession will start at the High Street, go onto Eden Street and then Clarence Street.. The organisers preferred route back to the ancient market place is via Wood Street and Thames Street, but this is yet to be confirmed. The alternative route will be via Church Street.
There are a number of planned road closures and rolling road blocks through the day in the town to facilitate the event, including part of Eden Street (11.30am – 2pm) and High Street (8am – 8pm).
We’ve been told Market Place stallholders and businesses can maintain access before 10am and after 4pm as usual.
We have not currently been provided with an on the day contact number for the event organisers. If there is an emergency situation, please contact the relevant emergency services. Whilst we are not involved with the organisation of Carnival, we will have a presence from 10am -18.00 on the day, so if there is an urgent matter you wish to discuss, please call Rob Warren on 07708 710914.
