Those of you that are regularly in town will have noticed how busy it has been! Helped by the relatively dry weather (notwithstanding the snow on the first day of reopening!) and the Kingston First campaign reminding you to ‘Colour Your Senses’, lots of people are rediscovering the things they love best in the town centre. You can see more information about our campaign on our consumer brand’s website InKingston.
YoY Footfall Comparisons
We’re keeping a close eye on footfall numbers here at Kingston First, and the early signs are looking promising:
- Footfall (already at a higher level in March 2021 than during lockdown in 2020) has more than doubled in the first week of reopening, compared to the previous week
- Footfall levels are looking closer to levels seen in 2019, which is fantastic news, given that the next phases of reopening are still to come
- Average footfall levels are higher in the past week than they were in the summer months of 2020
