You may recall that following feedback from businesses, residents and visitors for more greening, seating and biodiversity in the town centre we introduced a temporary scheme, known as Social Spaces, which introduced planters and seating on Lower Fife Road and the station and a part pedestrianising of Thames St.
The feedback to Social Spaces has been overwhelmingly positive and we now have the design brief (see below) out to tender to explore how we can make these a permanent feature in the town while also introducing wayfinding interventions to better connect the train station to the riverside. We will continue to engage with local businesses, residents and users on any future plans and will update you in the New year on how you can get involved.
We are seeking a landscape designer to support us with some public realm and wayfinding interventions in Kingston town centre. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to demonstrate their creative flair and work with different users and stakeholders to really make a difference. To find out more read the brief below.
